Dear Friends,
We, the editorial team of 2026 OSA Annual Souvenir URMI invite original high-quality articles in the following categories from OSA members to be published in the souvenir.
- Stories
- Poems
- Essays / Travelogues
- Feature Articles
- Research Articles
(Articles on Odia life in North America in general are strongly encouraged.)
Note: For official reports, please check for a special section below.
Article Submission Guidelines:
- Only one article will be accepted per writer. Length of the write up should not be more than 1-2 pages for poetry, 4 pages for write-ups in other categories.
- English articles must be submitted in Word document format (.doc/.docx) using Arial font, font size 12, single-spaced, without page numbers. The maximum length is 4 pages with 1-inch margins on all sides.
- Odia articles should be typed using Odiphon, Aprant, or the Google Unicode Input Tool at https://www.google.com/inputtools/try/ (select the language “Oriya”). If you use any other Odia typing software, please convert your article to Unicode using https://goo.gl/KzQFaW. Then, compose your article in MS Word and upload. Ensure you run a spell-check before submission.
General Rules for using English words in English letters in Odia articles
Note: Odia articles should not contain more than 5 English words/phrases in English letters. Articles containing any odd style of too much Odia/English combination will automatically be excluded from publication.
- All the article should be submitted in MS word format. No PDF please.
- Each submission must include the author’s photograph and full postal address. No other description is required. Author’s photograph’s filename should be FistnameLastname_photo.type where type can be png, jpg etc.
Example: JohnDoe_photo.jpg
- File naming format should be as follows:LanguageType_ArticleType_Category_FirstnameLastname_OSA2026.doc
Example: English_Essay_General_JohnDoe_OSA2025.doc
Here Category can be
General – For regular stories, poems, essays
Obituary – For “In Memorium” articles
MeghnaJ/MeghnaS – For articles submitted for Meghna Memorial Award in Junior and Senior Categories. Junior is for ages 7-12 and senior is for ages 13-18.
Chapter – For chapter reports
Messages – For reports from executives and convenor/co-convenor
Committee – For committee reports
- Please send your article to souvenir2026@osaconventions.org with the subject as OSA Annual Souvenir Urmi Submission.
- Last date for submission: March 1st, 2026 (Sunday). This deadline is Final, and no extensions will be granted. We encourage you to submit your articles well before the deadline.
- Important: If you do not receive an acknowledgement within 3 days of submission, please contact the editorial team at Souvenir Team Contact Form.
Official Reports
- All committee reports and chapter reports must be received by the deadline of March 1st, 2026. The report should be within 2-3 pages.
- Treasurer and Secretary reports must be received by May 15th, 2026
- Messages from EC and convenor/co-convenor must be received by March 1st, 2026
- All the advertisements for the souvenir must be received by June 1st, 2026
